Real-time sales coaching tools compared

By David Levy · 6 minute read

Four tools currently advertise real-time coaching during sales calls: Clari Copilot, Salesloft Conversation Intelligence, Outreach Kaia, and Aircover. All four surface battlecards or prompts while the call is happening, so the live moment is no longer the deciding factor. The differences that matter are what each product covers before, during, and after the conversation, whether it records by default, and which larger platform it is anchored to. Here is how they compare.

The shortlist

Clari Copilot is the conversation intelligence product inside Clari's revenue platform. Its public pages describe real-time transcription, live battlecards that guide reps in real time, playbooks, Gametapes for onboarding, and AI call summaries with notes, action items, and follow-up emails. Buyer signals from calls are sent into Clari to sharpen forecasting, which is the product's center of gravity.

Salesloft Conversation Intelligence is a module of the Salesloft engagement platform. Its pages say it automatically records, transcribes, and analyzes sales calls, that battlecards surface in real time on each call, and that coachable moments become tasks in rep workflows. It sits inside a system of action with Cadence, Rhythm, Deals, Clari Forecast, and Inspect, and it offers a meeting prep brief.

Outreach Kaia is the conversation intelligence feature of the Outreach platform, which positions itself as an agentic AI platform for revenue teams alongside engagement, deal management, and forecasting. Kaia joins and records live meetings, captures real-time transcription, delivers live battlecards and live content cards through Smart Meeting and Call Assist, generates summaries and follow-ups, and offers a one-sided recording option that records only the seller side of the conversation.

Aircover is an AI-native revenue agent platform. Specialist agents work before the call (account research, call prep, dynamic playbooks), during it (live guidance, battlecards, answers to technical questions), and after it (notes, follow-ups, scorecards against MEDDPICC, SPICED, BANT, or a custom rubric, and CRM sync to Salesforce, HubSpot, and ServiceNow). It runs on live transcription and does not record by default; recording is available as an opt-in. It works across Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Webex and is SOC 2 Type II certified.

How the four compare

The table sticks to what each vendor states on its own product pages. Where a page does not address a capability, the cell says so rather than guessing. Competitor capabilities verified against public product pages, September 2026.

Where another tool is the better choice

If your team already runs on Clari for forecasting, Clari Copilot is the path of least resistance. Call signals land directly in the forecast you already review, the coaching content lives next to the deal data, and there is one vendor relationship to manage. A revenue operations leader whose weekly rhythm is the Clari forecast call should start there.

If your reps live in Salesloft cadences or Outreach sequences all day, the conversation intelligence built into those platforms fits the workflow they already have. Salesloft turns coachable moments into tasks inside Rhythm, and Outreach folds call summaries into the same place reps manage their sequences. For an outbound-heavy team where the engagement platform is the system of record for rep activity, adding a separate coaching product means a second place to look, and the built-in module is the more practical choice.

Two more cases favor the others. A manager who coaches primarily by reviewing recordings, and whose buyers accept recording, gets a mature library workflow from Gametapes or Kaia Playlists, with clips organized by objection or stage and a review habit the team already knows. And a team that mostly needs post-call summaries and follow-up emails, with occasional live prompts, is well served by any of the three and does not need a broader agent platform. Adding Aircover to that team means paying for research and technical agents the reps would rarely use, and a simpler product with fewer moving parts is the honest recommendation.

Where Aircover is the better choice

The clearest case is the account that will not allow recording. Salesloft describes recording as the foundation of its analysis, Outreach records with a seller-only option, and Clari's pages do not say. Aircover does not record by default, so financial services, healthcare, and public-sector accounts with recording policies get live guidance, notes, scorecards, and CRM sync without a recorder in the meeting. No-recording does not eliminate applicable notice, consent, privacy, or contractual requirements. Use your organization's approved notice and consent process for the jurisdictions and customers you serve.

The second case is coverage before the call. Of the four, only Aircover's public positioning describes specialist agents that research the account and brief the rep before the meeting starts; Salesloft offers a prep brief, and the other two are silent. A team trying to shorten ramp for new reps gets the most help when the same platform preps the rep, guides the call, and scores it afterwards.

The third is technical depth on the call. Aircover's virtual sales engineer agent connects your documentation and approved answers to the live transcript, so a security or integration question gets an answer on the rep's screen while the buyer is still asking it. Teams with more technical questions than sales engineers to answer them feel this first.

Who should choose which

  • A revenue operations leader whose team runs on Clari forecasting and wants call signals feeding it: Clari Copilot.
  • An outbound-heavy team where reps spend the day in Salesloft or Outreach, buyers accept recording, and coaching needs to live inside the cadence: the built-in module, not Aircover.
  • A team selling into accounts that ban recording, or that wants one platform covering research, live guidance, and post-call automation: Aircover.
  • A sales organization with a small sales engineering bench and frequent technical questions on first calls: Aircover.

Running both

Aircover integrates with Salesloft and Outreach, so the realistic setup for many teams is the engagement platform for sequencing and activity, and Aircover for the conversation itself and everything around it. The engagement platform keeps its role as the system of record for outreach; Aircover covers before, during, and after the call and writes the results to Salesforce, HubSpot, or ServiceNow. Teams that pair the two usually turn off the engagement platform's recorder for accounts that require it and let Aircover carry those calls.

Frequently asked questions

Do Clari Copilot, Salesloft, and Outreach Kaia offer real-time coaching?

Yes. All three advertise live battlecards or prompts during calls on their public product pages, so real-time guidance alone does not separate them from Aircover.

Which real-time coaching tools work without recording the call?

Aircover does not record by default and offers recording as an opt-in. Salesloft describes recording as part of its analysis, Outreach records with a seller-only option, and Clari's public pages do not state a recording policy.

Can Aircover run alongside Salesloft or Outreach?

Yes. Aircover integrates with both, so the engagement platform handles sequencing while Aircover covers the call before, during, and after and writes results to Salesforce, HubSpot, or ServiceNow.

Which tool helps reps before the call, not only during it?

Aircover's specialist agents handle account research and call prep before the meeting. Salesloft offers a meeting prep brief; Clari Copilot and Outreach Kaia do not describe pre-call features on their public pages.

Which should a Clari customer choose?

A team whose forecasting rhythm runs on Clari usually starts with Clari Copilot, since call signals land directly in the forecast. Aircover becomes the better fit when accounts ban recording or the team wants coverage before the call.
