Aircover vs Gong

By Andrew Levy · 6 minute read

Gong captures customer interactions, maps them to business context, and turns them into coaching, pipeline, and forecasting insight, with its pages describing that work after the interaction. Aircover is an AI-native revenue agent platform whose agents work before, during, and after every call, and it does not record by default. Choose Gong if forecasting and post-call review are the job. Choose Aircover if reps need help while the customer is talking, or if accounts can't be recorded.

What each product is built for

Gong's product pages describe a platform that automatically captures every customer interaction and maps it to business context, then uses that record to replicate winning techniques across the team, pinpoint the number and the paths to target, and identify high-impact opportunities. Its named integrations include bi-directional Salesforce sync and Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The pages reference AI agents without detailing real-time features, and they do not describe assistance to a rep during a live call, pre-call preparation, or whether recording is required for the analysis. Its security page lists custom retention and redaction settings.

Aircover is built around the conversation itself. Before the call, agents handle account research, call prep, and dynamic playbooks. During it, the in-call agent surfaces live guidance, battlecards, and answers to technical questions from the live transcript. After it, agents produce notes, follow-ups, and scorecards, sync fields to Salesforce, HubSpot, and ServiceNow, and feed conversation intelligence across deals. It does not record by default; recording is available as an opt-in. It works across Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Webex, and it is SOC 2 Type II certified.

The table puts the two side by side on the dimensions buyers decide on. Competitor capabilities verified against public product pages, September 2026.

One point applies to both products. No-recording does not eliminate applicable notice, consent, privacy, or contractual requirements. Use your organization's approved notice and consent process for the jurisdictions and customers you serve.

Where Gong is the better choice

If forecasting is the problem, Gong is built for it. Its pages lead with pinpointing your number and the paths to target, identifying high-impact opportunities, and handling risk with predictability, and that is the center of the product. A revenue leader whose weekly pain is the forecast call rather than the sales call should weigh that heavily, because it is the job Gong describes itself doing.

If your team already coaches from recordings and every account allows it, Gong's model of capturing interactions and replicating winning techniques matches how your managers work today. Moving to a platform whose default is not to record changes the coaching workflow, and for a team that does not need the change, that is a cost rather than a benefit. The same is true if your enablement team has built its review sessions, call libraries, and onboarding around recorded examples.

If your CRM is Salesforce and bi-directional sync is the main integration you need, Gong's pages name it directly. And if you have built playbooks, scorecards, and reporting on Gong's data over several years, that accumulated record has a value that any new platform starts without, and it should be part of the cost of switching.

Where Aircover is the better choice

Aircover is the choice when the moment that matters is during the call. A rep who gets a technical question, hears a competitor's name, or drifts past the discovery question the playbook calls for is helped while the customer is still on the line. Gong's public pages do not describe that kind of assistance, so if it is what you are buying, ask Gong to show it or evaluate Aircover.

It is also the choice when part of your pipeline can't be recorded. Because Aircover does not record by default, those accounts get the same coverage before, during, and after the call as the rest of your book, and your coaching program stops having a gap where the largest or most careful customers sit.

And it is the choice for teams that want one AI-native platform across the whole conversation rather than a capture-and-review system plus separate tools for prep and live help. Ramping reps feel this most: the prep arrives before the call, the guidance during it, and the scorecard after it, all from the same agents.

Who should choose which

  • A forecasting-led revenue org where recording is allowed everywhere and managers coach from recorded-call review: choose Gong. Aircover is not the right buy for this team.
  • A team with accounts that ban recording, or a coaching program with a hole where those accounts sit: choose Aircover, and keep or add a forecasting tool separately.
  • A team ramping new sellers who need answers and prompts while the customer is talking: choose Aircover.
  • A team that needs both a forecasting system and help during the call: run both, with Gong on forecasting and Aircover on the conversation.

Running both

Yes. Gong stays the system for forecasting and post-call review on the accounts that allow recording. Aircover runs the before, during, and after work for reps and carries the accounts that can't be recorded. Aircover's fields sync to Salesforce, HubSpot, and ServiceNow, so the CRM remains the shared record for both systems.

Decide up front which system owns the coaching scorecard so managers work from one rubric, and which system's notes are the ones reps are expected to review before the next call. Say a team of forty reps has a dozen accounts that ban recording: those accounts run on Aircover alone, the rest run on both, and the weekly pipeline review reads the same five CRM fields for all of them.

If you want to see what agent coverage looks like on a call your team can't record, book a demo and bring one of those accounts as the example.
